We are a homewares and stationery wholesaler based in Auckland New Zealand. Established in 2014 under the name Best Abroad. In 2024 we have updated our brand and name to Father Rabbit Merchant.
Father Rabbit Merchant is the global distributor of our house brands Father Rabbit and Lettuce. We are the Australasian distributor of Pallarès Knives. We distribute Elm Paper Cards and Yamazaki Homewares into the New Zealand market.
We regularly attend trade fairs in New Zealand and Australia and have a by appointment showroom in New Lynn Auckland.
Father Rabbit Merchant is owned by Claudia Zinzan and Nick Hutchinson. Our sales manager is Emma Silver. We are a small hardworking team and we can’t wait to meet you.
Father Rabbit Merchant is the sister company (wholesale arm) of the retail store Father Rabbit. Father Rabbit has 4 stores located in Auckland NZ. We are very familiar and experienced with both wholesale and retail processes so if ever have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.

FROM BEST ABROAD to FATHER RABBIT MERCHANT
We have been operating in the wholesale space since 2014. Best Abroad Limited is the company name and we have recently decided to trade as Father Rabbit Merchant. We felt this is clearer for our customers to understand the Father Rabbit Story as we continue to develop our stationery brands Father Rabbit and Lettuce into a bigger more global offering. We still continue to distribute imported brands Pallares, Elm Paper and Yamazaki into New Zealand.
Our plan for the future is to find international distributors in new global markets. It also makes sense if we want to have a retail offering in other markets to go under the trusted Father Rabbit name.
Father Rabbit Merchant is a small team consisting of owners Nick Hutchinson, Claudia Zinzan. Sales manager Emma Silver and production and logistics manager Maria Lovelace.
